1. Getting Started

The OnlineCheckWriter™ Mail Add-on allows you to send physical mail directly from Google Docs™ without leaving your document. Your documents are printed, enveloped, and mailed via USPS or FedEx.

Requirements

  • Google Docs™ account
  • OnlineCheckWriter™ account (free to create)
  • Mail credits (purchase at onlinecheckwriter.com)

2. Initial Setup

Step 1: Install the Add-on

  1. Open any Google Doc™
  2. Go to Extensions > Add-ons > Get add-ons

  1. Search for "Send Physical Mail from Google Docs™ "
  2. Click Install and grant necessary permissions

Step 2: Access the Add-on

Once installed, access the add-on through:

  • Extensions > Send Physical Mail from Google Docs™ > Mail via USPS/FedEx
  • Extensions > Send Physical Mail from Google Docs™ > Mail Overnight
  • Extensions > Send Physical Mail from Google Docs™ > Settings


Step 3: Sign In to OnlineCheckWriter™
  1. In Google Docs™, go to Extensions > Send Physical Mail > Settings
  2. The setup dialog will appear

  1. Enter your OnlineCheckWriter™ credentials:
    • Username (email)
    • Password
  2. Click "Sign In"
  3. You'll see "Connected Successfully" when logged in

Step 4: Add Mail Credits

  1. Check your credit balance in the sidebar (shown at top in green box)
  2. If credits are low/zero, click "Recharge Now"
  3. Purchase credits at: https://live.onlinecheckwriter.com/manage/refill-credit

3. Sending Mail

Sending Standard Mail (USPS/FedEx)

  1. Open the document you want to mail
  2. Go to Extensions > Send Physical Mail > Mail via USPS/FedEx
  3. The sidebar will open on the right


  1. In the sidebar:

    a. Check your Available Credits

    • Displayed in green box at top
    • Click "↻ Refresh" to update

    b. Enter Document Title (optional)

    • Uses document name if empty

    c. Select Shipping Type

    • First Class (3-5 business days)
    • First Class (Tracking)
    • Priority Mail (1-3 business days)
    • Express Mail
    • Additional FedEx options may be available


    d. Select FROM address (your return address)

    • Choose from saved addresses
    • Or click "➕ Add New From Address..."

    e. Select TO address (recipient)

    • Choose from saved addresses
    • Use search box to find recipients
    • Or click "➕ Add New To Address..."


  2. Click "Send Document"

    • Your document will be printed and mailed!

Sending Overnight Mail

  1. Go to Extensions > Send Physical Mail > Mail Overnight
  2. Follow same steps as above
  3. Shipping is pre-set to FedEx Overnight (next business day delivery)


Switching Between Mail Types

  • Use "Switch to Overnight Mail" button in standard mail sidebar
  • Use "Switch to Regular Mail" button in overnight mail sidebar

4. Managing Addresses

Accessing Address Management

Click the "Addresses" tab in the mail sidebar


Adding FROM Addresses (Return Addresses)

  1. In the Send Document tab, click dropdown for FROM address
  2. Select "➕ Add New From Address..."
  3. Fill in your address details:
    • Name* (required)
    • Company (optional)
    • Address Line 1* (required)
    • Address Line 2 (optional)
    • City*, State*, ZIP* (required)
    • Phone, Email (optional)
  4. Click "Save Address"

Adding TO Addresses (Recipients)

Method 1 - From Send Tab:

  1. Click TO address dropdown
  2. Select "➕ Add New To Address..."
  3. Fill in recipient details
  4. Click "Save Address"


Method 2 - From Addresses Tab:
  1. Go to Addresses tab
  2. Click "➕ Add New Address" under To Addresses
  3. Fill in details and save

Searching for Recipients

  1. Click the TO address field
  2. Type recipient name in search box
  3. Results appear as you type
  4. Click to select from results


Deleting Addresses
  1. Go to Addresses tab
  2. Find the address to delete
  3. Click "Delete" button
  4. Confirm deletion

Note: FROM addresses must exist in OnlineCheckWriter™. Add them via the add-on or at app.onlinecheckwriter.com


5. Credit Management

Understanding Credits

  • 1 credit = 1 page mailed
  • Multi-page documents use multiple credits
  • Credits never expire
  • Different shipping types may have different credit costs

Checking Credit Balance

  • Credits display at top of sidebar (green box)
  • Shows available credits in real-time
  • Click "↻ Refresh" to update balance

Purchasing Credits

  1. When credits are low, "Recharge Now" link appears
  2. Click link to go to OnlineCheckWriter™
  3. Select credit package
  4. Complete purchase
  5. Credits available immediately
